Hi my user name is 67Vista but my real name is Les Putnam and I am building a 1967 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser station wagon pro touring vehicle. The vehicle has had extensive bodywork and modifications due to some rust issues just about everywhere throughout this car. Some of the mods are custom dash, shaved door handles, suicide rear doors, custom hood, cadillac led taillights and third brake light. Drivetrain will be a 455 with a Turbo400 mated to a 9 inch Ford. Suspension will be dropped spindles, airbags with 4 link. I am contemplating using an Art Morrison G force frame at a later date as finances allow. I am looking forward to gathering ideas and strategies to complete my project as well as meeting and making new friends.67467

Welcome aboard Les, I LOVE the wagon! i'm in Burien but grew up in Juanita and have spent a lot of time in Sultan, Goldbar and Monroe. You'll get a lot of great ideas from this board which will probably end up costing you a lot of money, HA! I'd love to see more pics of the car.

Thank you, Robert. A friend on another board steered me over here, have been lurking for a while. Trying to figure out the best platform for this car. My thought was originally to go with an Art Morrison G Force frame, but there are so many vendors and options out there that I may need to do some more homework. I work in the Juanita area occasionally, how long ago did you leave?

Rich, Thank you. If you look real close I think you will see the woodgrain in the photo. Great looking car from 20 feet, but up close major rust issues! That is what led to my decision to have a custom, one of a kind, pro touring wagon. Here are some pics of work that has been done.

Steve,

Interesting that you say that, I suppose it depends on what generation your frame of reference refers to: station wagons are having a resurgence, but I can remember a time when they were common place, a lot of my generation of hot rodders liked them and felt they made great sleepers back when street racing wasn't taboo.
