Stopped by today....again "8 years later" to ask about this lonely convert.
This is what I do know:
Last registered in 1976...then it sat in its current state.
40k orig miles on it.
1 owner car.
Complete car......interior....engine....top....rear.....all matching numbers.
It is not a rally or super sport.............just a 67 rag top with a power top (yes power top...i can see the cylinders)- 350 single barrel- automatic
It needs every panel of sheetmetal..........cant look at the floors.....but I can only imagine.
I currently have 2 other 67's...so I know whats involved in the restoration.
I just was wondering what others thought would be a reasonable $$$ amount to the owner, because my $500 offer didnt sway him too much.
Would love to have some opinions.
Thanks

Looks like you're buying a VIN. The prices these cars are going for are ridiculous these days. That said, I may go up a little considering the support for these, and they usually fetch a decent price on resale. You seem to be well aware of the work involved, and it is better off restored than a sitting pile of metal.

It appears to be one of those cars the owner says "well a restored one went for $xxx at an auction last year..." Your offer seems fair to me.

Another pic of the engine bay.
Iv had my eyes on it now for at least ten years...........First words out of his mouth "YA KNOW HOW MUCH YOU COULD RESELL THIS FOR WHEN ITS DONE"
I have always thought it was a cool one owner car with limited miles on it.
I just basically asked him to have a kind heart knowing it will go to a good home, and he could maybe get to drive it again....when or if I got done with it.
I pass it every day....its tucked in the woods... and pains me to see it go through every season uncovered....and know one else has every spotted it.
His house has recently had a condemed -X- put on it from the firefighters....because the house is just as bad., so I thought I should stop in before it becomes "PROPERTY OF THE STATE"......or they decide to burn it down.
He said he would call me back.....we will see.

I'm imagining if the quarters and fenders look that like that, then the floors must be shot too. I personally would weigh the cost of a 1 owner 67 vert needing a MASSIVE restoration vs. a project that someone has abandoned needing a lot less work.

thats a 327 not a 350. 210 hp 2 barrell. 350 was only used in ss. there is really nothing useable

Come'on....think of all the OEM orig parts on this car..LOL.....he has the protect-o-plate---build sheet... thats kinda cool
Ill give him a week or so..........ive given him ten years of drivin by it.....we'll wait to see.....im hopin for $500-$800.
The cocktail shakers and mechanics of the top are at least worth that??.......or.....cut it in half up and make a cool hang on the wall art car for my garage.

No more than 1000$ for sure, and thats pushing it.,

Yeah a restored one might sell for $40k but it will probably take that much to save this one!

It's pretty far gone your offer is a good one. He should have grabbed the $500 quick!

My thoughts too.

Looks like a good canidate for a re-body.

I would guess the frame rails under the trunk are shot and the rockers I would bet would need replaced along with the 1/4s and all the floors. Many thousands in sheetmetal even if you did it all yourself. It does look complete though.

you were on target with the 500 dollar offer if you really want it go as high as you want....but theres almost nothing on that car that that will be reused, other than the trim tag and maybe the frame, block, rearend, window channels, windows, vert top frame, and after that everything is scrap from the pictures
