I have a full C5/C6 setup for my new subframe. The other day on ebay I found a new set of Prothane bushings for less than 10 bucks and I bought them. I know they can squeak and I have heard you need to use a lot of grease during assembly and down the road, they will squeak any way, but if you had the choice between stock rubber bushings with unknown mileage and the Prothane bushings what would you go with?

Stock = comfortable ride + deflection
Poly = squeaks, maintanance + a solid ride
In my mind it boils down to intended use and personal preference --

It will be driven about as much as most PT cars. My biggest reason for considering the change is the fact that my arms are used and I am not sure how worn the factory bushings are. The urethane isn't the best option out there, but now is the time for me to decide.

use cerulean grease by valvoline. it is designed for heavy equipment pins that need high resistance to push out and weather conditions. i produce polyurethane bushings for vipers, it is the only grease i tested that would not sqeek. don't do silicone grease or any of the other crap. that cerulean is bad ass stuff. i use it on all suspension components now. noticeable difference in friction loss over other moly greases too.

Nice, I will look into that. If I knew the history of these arms, I would probably stick with the stockers. Since this is going to be a daily, I will probably upgrade to the urethane stuff and take your advice on upgrading the grease.
