Greetings fellow enthusiasts.

I'm looking to increase the steering ratio of my current setup.

The car is a 69 Camaro with Steeroids powered rack and pinion conversion installed. There are no issues with bumpsteer, alignment issues, power steering assist, etc. Purely looking to make the steering quicker.

I believe the rack is a GM (perhaps earlier Corvette) Unit. But not certain. It's definitely not a Ford Mustang rack. What's interesting is that the folks on the other end of the Steeroids phone support wasn't certain of the make of their rack and pinion either.

What I would like to do is swap the unit for a quicker ratio rack and pinion unit. The current rack takes approx 3.5 turns from stop to stop. I have seen some racks that are closer to 2.5 turns stop to stop.

Is swapping a new one for the current unit as straight forward as taking into account the overall length from tie rod to tie rod end? Or is there internal modifications to the Steeroid rack and pinion that is specific to the geometry of a 69 Camaro that needs to be taken into account as well?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
