Anyone have a Dana 44 set up in a second gen f body?
I can pick up a whole set-up for $300
One thing is I have more time than money, so I just wanted to see it this is a possibly before I spend my money on it.
If anyone knows of a thread they could lead me to I would appreciate it

A Dana 44 is an 8.5" ring gear, same size as the 71-81 10-bolt. Not really an upgrade in my opinion. A Dana 60 would be a better choice, but the stock 8.5" 10-bolt can handle a good amount of power. I presume the Dana is coming from a truck or Jeep?

If it was coming out of a Viper than I would say go for it. If not, keep it in the jeep. Im with Randy, build an 8.5. Probably be cheaper too, unless that Dana is set up with the lim slip and ratio you want.

No its out of a c4 corvette, an IRS Dana 44, looking for more of a suspention upgrade than a axle upgrade. Just looking to see what kind of brakets and body mods would need to be done to complete the swap so I can have a good ride height and no tire rub, pinion angle and so on , it won't see tomuch power just a fairly stock ls1 and t56

Well then that is a different thing all together. I believe it has been done, of course all custom fabrication. Might start with cutting out the rear frame section of a Vette with all the mounts. Either that section can be fabbed into the rear or used as a reference point for mounting the IRS into the car. Good luck with the project, this is something I have thought about doing with my Camaro down the road so I will be interested in how yours goes.

There is a guy in my town with a 69 that has a c4 swap. I have never gotten a close look at it though.

I did this swap about 12 years ago in a 69 Camaro.
The half shafts need to be narrowed, you need to make mounts for the rear bat wing support and the pinion.
The stock dog bones on the 4 bar are too short, the geometry is not good.
With some help I made them longer and adjustable.

I had a look through the pics I have left and unfortunately none show the rear suspension. Only the front.
I got divorced 7 years ago and I didn't get all my pics.

Check Newman car creations site they did the swap a couple years back with stock geometry.
