I have 3 tires and bought a different size 4th tire to test fit it. I'm just wondering if I can drive around on mismatched tires or if that will do any damage to the rear end. The tires are 245/40/18 and 275/35/18.

Is that too much of a difference? Just putting them next to each other, it looked to be between 1/4 and 1/2 of an inch. Probably right around 3/8.

I guess I could sell the 275 if someone else needed it for test fitting and just get another 245, but I'm lazy and that seems like more of a hassle lol.

I would think it would create a lot of heat, and wear the clutches out. I would not do it, my self.

That's what I was thinking, too. I just had it rebuilt, too, so I don't want to do any damage as it's breaking in.

Looks like I'll be getting tires soon.

In theory those tires should be very close in diameter if they're the same style. 25.6" vs 25.7". If that we're true, it shouldn't be a problem. Think about how many people have blown a tire and just replaced the blown one, while the other is at half tread. It would be the same difference.

With that said, don't listen to me, it's not my rear end on the line.

I wouldn't drive it far, it is hard on the clutches.
