Been snooping around looking at front and rear sway bars...

Found a BIG rear one... 1.25" ... Could this be used in the Pro-touring arena or just drag racing?

If so what would be matched for a front swaybar.

Currently I have Grand National front and rear swaybars on my 82 Regal with poly busings in the arms front and rear.

Plan on stepping up the suspension to the better tubular designed trailing arms that do articulate on the rear, and up front, for the taller balljoints , correct uppers.

Just curious if I could use that rear swaybar.

ALso I will be stepping up to 17" tires and rims, wide as I can stuffed in all 4 corners.

thanks

Hey Chris.

Our Stage 4 kit with 1" tubular rear bar would be a great fit for your application.

Our rear bar is 1" tubular and has enough rate to balance your car for street/auto-x and even light drag.

Depending on your intentions for the car (and most of us on here are corner burning!), a full drag bar provides huge oversteer tendencies.

Also, we have a build thread started for our '79. https://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?92775-Our-1979-Monte-Carlo-Pro-Touring-Project&highlight=umi

Let me know if you'd like to discuss.

A 1.25 inch rear bar may work okay on a motorhome. On your car, it may perpetuate a grotesque inclination to drift--this is not a good thing when you're not on the Dukes of Hazzard set...
