Hello all. My name is Shawn, from the high desert in CA. I have a 1967 Buick Skylark I am working on. Came upon this site from a link on a Buick site I am a member of. Been lurking a while, finally decided to join. Wasn't sure which route I wanted to go with this car, but recently saw the Hot Rod magazine '66 Buick Special, and I like what I see. Currently the car is a 340 4 barrel, ST300,10 bolt, all stock. Needs a lot of work but runs. Plans include big wheels, disc brakes all around (though I just overhauled all the drums to make sure the car can stop in the meantime), and upgraded suspension with either coilovers or air springs all around. Body will be kept relatively stock (already removed about a gallon of filler), minor subtle mods, upgraded interior and stereo. Biggest challenge will be the turbos for the engine, probably modeled after the Burton Machine twin turbo 350, unless I can find a good 455 core before then, which I also plan on turbocharging if I find one.Going to be a slow process, between job, home, bills, and two girls to raise, but I am in no hurry. Just want to get a lot of ideas to devise a good plan before I really jump into it.67003

Welcome to the site Shawn....... the car looks like a pretty solid starting point.
If you are planning to upgrade the suspension we have some great parts/kits that work great on the GM A-body like yours.
Here is a install article that the folks at Chevy Hi Performance did on our Level 2 kit:

We built a 71 Chevelle for the Super Chevy Handling Challenge that out handled a C5 Vette at the time.

Be sure to post pictures of the car as it comes together if you can. BTW... judging by your user ID I take it you a Yamaha man?

Yes. Had a 1981 XS650 that I rebuilt from the ground up as a street tracker. Bike was a blast once the bugs were fixed. Sold it because I was considering tearing it apart again to do something different with it. But it was too nice to chop. Wouldn't mind having another one. Selling it is how I got this car. Always had a soft spot for Buicks and Oldsmobile'sthough.

Sounds awesome Shawn! I am a big fan of older Japanese twins done as Trackers, Bobbers, Cafe's, etc..... now you gotta post a picture:fingersx:
