Help- I was looking at buying a former Chevy Hi-Performance feature car from Brandon Hill. Its a 1969 Camaro RS with a host of upgrades. The article can be found here:

I was all gung ho on the car until I looked at the price of a Boss Mustang Laguna Seca- $50,000. $29000 more is the price of a Mustang GT with 412hp-5.0L engine.
Is the car worth it or should I just get a Mustang and be happy? Or maybe the Boss 302 plus a nice 1969 Camaro RS/SS driver?

What's the Mustang going to be worth in 3, 5, 10 years from now. Will it hold its value? That's one way to look at it. Although 79k is a lot of $$$$.

BITCHIN Camaro or another late model Mustang...abiet a cool mustang...but another late model Mustang! It's ALL "want" at this point! Whatever YOU want!!

Driving the 69 Camaro would be great but I feel like its $19,000 too much. But, if I let it go, trying to replicate it might be much more. I just bought a BMW S1000RR motorcycle and I hate it- no soul. Not trusting my instincts right now....
I usually build my own but pricing out the pro-charger bigblock with titanium valves in the BRODIX CNC head came to almost $20,000- some assembly required. Figured I could put the engine in my Chevelle and swap to a more reasonable 525HP LS3 crate motor.

Are you willing to drive a $79k Camaro, or will you be afraid to damage it? That would be my question.
If you have the money and the guts to drive it, you may be more satisfied in the end than with a production car.
However, you cannot make a bad choice between this nice Camaro and a Mustang Boss Laguna Seca (even though I am no Ford fan). Both are outstanding cars in their own way.

You couldn't build it for that. Im not a big block guy but im sure its all that. only downside i see is no a/c. But that may not be important where you live. Awesome car. Has alot more soul than any new car that you could buy. I would drive the #%%^ out of it. Whats it gonna hurt? There is nothing on it thats not repairable. Just clear bra the vulnerable spots and enjoy.

It all depends on what you want.
If you want a car that you can drive to/from the track, have great performance capabilities, and hardly ever have to work on, the Boss LS is a no-brainer. It's a race car with street tires, creature comforts, and a warranty.
If you want something that stirs the soul like a 1st-gen can, and don't mind the labor, extra expense, and long-term reliabiltiy concerns, then the choice is the Camaro.

I think you've already answered the question. You don't seem to want the camaro that bad. If you need to be talked into it you don't want it, at least for that price.

Bingo. I wanted it bad but spending all that money on one thing would leave me broke and sad. At $60,000 it was a "good deal". Rather put the money in my Chevelle which deserves it.

as long as you don't end up buying a boat.
Play it right and you can build your chevelle and buy a fixer uper Camaro.
