New GMR front upright packages with CPP calipers and uprights. These packages feature the new CPP uprights along with C5 calipers backed up by a GMR selected brake package to complement our front bolt on C5/6 hubs. These packages are available for both AFX body cars and GEN2 F-bodies.

Brake Man – Booth #22832

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

The Brake Man and GMR have combined forces to bring to market top quality pro-touring and pro-street brake packages designed to work flawlessly with GMR products. GMR will be displaying an entire rear GMR9 STAINLESS 3.25 inch housing that will feature both the GMR pro-touring and pro-street rear full floater packages.

On Thursday and Friday GMR will be displaying the brand new GMR Fabricated C6 pro-spindle/MII upright with our C5/6 hubs and pro-street front brake package.

This new upright is hand fabricated with chromoly platework and designed to bolt into the pro-spindle / MII setups that are found throughout the industry. These uprights allow you to maintain the same WMS and convert all of your brakes to C5/6 packages. They will work with all aftermarket brake packages on GMR c5/6 hubs.

GMR - IN THE WORKS!!!!!

We have been insane busy so this is not 100% done yet but getting there….
The New GMR Corvette fabricated chromoly stock replacement upright. These uprights will be offerend in two different versions, one with all stock geometry and steering arms and the second with all stock geometry and no steering arms (for aftermarket suspension like IRONWORKS, DSE, MORRISON, and many more..) Eliminate Deflection and drastically improve the stiffness of your brake / hub package with these uprights. Weighing in at only 7.3 lbs these uprights are the perfect combination of strength and reduced weight.

This past year has been very busy and exciting with many new products and relationships. The GMR would like to take a second to thank the following people:

Jim R. of CPP - Thanks for all the help and your time / opportunity to showcase our new products with yours!

Warren / Cory of Brake Man - I cant say enough about these two, "knowledge" is the best word I can use to describe them. Thanks for all the time and effort put into our new packages!

Ray Hale - Thank you for being the one to spear head the new fabricated upright for the pro-spindle, and for being so patient with the design / built time!

See you at SEMA, and I see the CAD models of the C6 version of the upright with the opening to allow the rear hubs to be used with your design. Do you plan to build those, so someone using the spindles all the way around the vehicle, can use yours?

yes sir, the stock units with the steering will work for both front and rear C5/6 setups including the rear parking brake assembly.

Or mine?

Actually, I am glad someone will be making a fabricated spindle. Virtually all off-road racers are using fabricated spindles. But, in other forms of motorsports, there seems to be a great fear of welded spindles and great acceptance of welded A-arms.

Seriously!!!! We get it! Everything is a knock off, everyone stole someone else's idea, everyone else's products suck. Holy ****, can't The GMR just post their products with out all the negativity. If people are interested the products maybe they should pick up the telephone and call Jay or Jason in person, you know the way human beings were meant to communicate, by talking! You might actually find out they know what they are talking about. They are pretty down to earth car guy's. If you don't like their products, then don't buy them. That's why we live in America, so we have that choice. I'm pretty sure The GMR pays good money to advertise on these sites, so why don't people just let them do that. If you have a legitimate question and you are interested, this is probably the place to ask. If you have some BS backhanded comment maybe you should start your own thread, or better yet maybe just look in the mirror and see what makes you the type of person who always has to piss on someone else's Wheaties. It may seem like it, but I am not directing the rant towards any sole individual but every member who constantly feels the need to stir up controversy in someone else's thread. To Jay and Jason, I apologize for hijacking your thread and hope I have done nothing to get it closed. By the way, the products look great, good luck at SEMA.

Wow! I hope that wasn't directed at me.

I have been thinking about making some fabricated spindles for my build for some time and was just sharing my concept. My ideas obviously haven't been completely flushed out (no locating slots and tabs, no steering arm, Etc.). I read about anything I can find on the topic. I think Mark Stielow did a pair a while ago. I did a search but couldn't find anything. I am excited that someone is actually producing some for the PT'ers.

Whenever I talk to someone about it they freak out about welding on a spindle. They don't have a second thought about their tubular control arms or sliding behind a steering column that has a flexable joint flange, welded to the end of the steering shaft. There is a catastrophic single point failure! This is a pet peeve of mine. People tend to be afraid of things they haven't seen a number of times. Imagine if you wanted to bring gasoline to market today. The regulators would make you have a certified technician in a HazMat suit with plumbed in, pressurized, filted air, a ground strap on the car and tech, and you would have to be escorted to a blast proof bunker while they topped you up. But you can go to the grocery store and pump it yourself because it has been around for a long time.

I like GMR's products. I think they started in off-road (I was in that field also). Their products look very well thought out, nicely machined and researched. They look at the existing parts and try to improve or eliminate the weaknesses they identify. They bring their unique experience and design background which expands and challenges our sport. I only wish I could afford them. I know and am struggling with making high quality, well made, small quantity, limited market products at foreign prices. I wish I could make it to SEMA this year and be able to meet them. I hope they have a great show and contact lots of customers, so they can keep bringing out new products.

Hey Jason,

It has been a pleasure working with you as well! I know when you are designing something from scratch, it takes time. I've experienced it many times along my build... I know they will be worth the wait and I am excited you agreed to add the Mustang II spindle setup to your "to do" list! I now know that my Pro Spindles with their small aluminum hubs will not be my weakest link... I really do want to keep my front wheels on my car at speed!! :drive2:

I did mail my traction control sensor to you so you can get my mount constructed on my spindles.

Good luck with SEMA!!

similar, but not the exact same. I basically "created" a stock upright out of steel / 4130. It can be used on many applications that feature these OEM uprights with the steering arms machined off (most aftermarket pro-tour clips). The stock steering arm units are just that, stock. They will work on all 4 corners and provide superior stiffness / rigidity then any aluminum upright especially at operating temperature (212-400+ degrees Fahrenheit). Nothing revolutionary, just another way to "skin the cat" so to speak!

Any idea when the pricing of the MII setup will be released? I am pretty interested. Thanks.

the scalloped rotors have been used on the dirt for a long time, just like wide 5 hubs. speedway also have vented rotors,
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Cast-Iron-Drilled-Scalloped-Brake-Rotor-1175-x-810-Inch,9231.html
I have thought about going with the scalloped rotors, but this just what we need to use with standard hubs.
thanks GMR!

is there a way that I can get dimensions of the fabricated spindles, with hubs?
so I can start fabricating my front suspension, in a Suspension analyzer program.
