6654166542Hello all! New to the sight and just wanted to share my project with everyone. I'm turning my commuter into a pro touring project. I've had the car for about 8 years and was actually doing a 66 chevelle that hasn't been touched for about 10 years but that's another story. My buick 350 was dying on me and I had an LS1 from a 02 WS6 with less than 15k miles that I purchaced 10 yrs ago and was just sitting. So of course trying to save money and already having a good engine, I decided to put it in the Lark....that's all I was supposed to do!! When the old engine came out, I ended up smoothing the firewall which ended up deciding to strip the paint of the exterior then upgrade the drums to disc etc,etc... and of course snowballed from there! In any case 2 yrs later it now has Ridetech front Upper and lower control arms, Ridetech SA coilovers,Hotchkiss extreme swaybars front/rear, rear c3fab boxed lowers in the rear with adjustable uppers, BRP disc brake conversion kit front and rear(late model f-body) and 3:73 Posi. I have modified 05 Deville front seats with center console and am currently trying to modify the rear seats. These pictures were before I started, I will update more recent ones soon. Thanks!!

Rich, thanks for showing some interest in my project! I put a few pics in the "project updates"...I hope I'm doing this correctly? This is the first time for me on any forum. As for the 66 chevelle, it is sitting in my friends 10,000 sq. ft. shop in Nevada (he has 50 classic cars! Haha!) Had all the rust removed, floor boards replaced, installed a 65 El Camino gas tank door on the quarter, ready for block sanding.Frame was powder coated, big brake set up front and rear,qa1 coil overs CPP control arms front and rear, had all new bumpers,ss hood and all moldings. Time and money being a factor also being in San mateo was difficult to get to Reno often. One day I will return to that project. Let me know what you think bout LSlark project, I will post a lot more pics!

I checked out the project page and I really like the direction you are taking with the car. So far it really looks great and I think those seats are going to make all the difference to the family.

Thanks Rich, I was going for a build that would be very comfortable to sit in on long drives with the family, car shows and cruises, occassional autocross and 1/4 mile runs! I will have more updates to come.

Listed as 1970... with 1972 Hood/Front & Rear bumpers? Nice car, cool specs! Buick cars deserve Buick engines, but if you already have an LS engine to donate, then there are a few "how to" articles for shoehorning it into the Skylark, from others who've already done it. Todd Miller's G-Rex is a good example, that you may find informative, to help you.
Keep us posted, welcome aboard! ; )

Yes,it had a 71 front bumper and 72 rear. I now have the correct bumpers ready to go on after paint(it's at the body shop now). LS had already been installed and fitted,if you get a chance I posted some pics in the project update thread. Thank you for the information I will be sure to take a look at it. It's nice to hear from Buick owners! This is my first build of this magnatude(for me) and any feedback is appreciated!
