Sadly yesterday during testing one of my connecting rods decided it didn't want to be in the motor anymore about 5 laps in. I was exiting "Riverside Corner" at Buttonwillow and hard on the throttle. The engine wizzed and BOOM! lots of debris out the back end. This motor served us well for the last 4 years, and had a lot more miles on it that it probably should have.

When I lifted the hood....

This is what the track crew found on the track. About 5 pieces of block, 6 pieces of piston, a couple bits of oil ring, the rod cap and a big piece of the connecting rod.

Luckily one of the other guys there was nice enough to let me borrow his Maserati for a bit! What a great car (the owner getting out after filling up after my run).

So sadly, no data or testing done on the new sway bar, and the car will be jack-standed until after SEMA and the next drivetrain is settled on.

Well, there's only one thing left to do. Mount the carnage on a plaque and hang it with pride in a place of importance (the man cave or the shop).
