ok guys i just picked up a sweet 1968 camaro.. its got stock suspension and the hotrod look now with cragar skinnies in front and wide ones with big tires and traction bars in the back. i want to go for a pro touring look without getting crazy on $$.. So im looking to add a lowering kit, wheels and big brakes on a budget.. so far i ordered some ridler 18x8 and 18x9.5 wheels for the car so i think im good there.. What do u recommend for suspension and brakes.. so far i seen a C6 Z06 kit from Kore3 and maybe some hotchkis lowering springs and leafs??? give me ur thoughts guys...
i would love to do 18x12 with mini tub and different rear suspension but thats to much for me. i dont want to cut the car up and its just a nice daily driver for me..

Hotchkis is going to be the best mix of cheapest and easiest (not bottom dollar, but really good performance/$$, and the hardest part is unbolting old parts). Get the 3 inch drop leaves, the 1.5 inch aren't enough even with blocks. I made that mistake, I hate the super low look, and 1.5inch + 1 inch block are still kinda jacked up. Kore3 brakes are amazing for the price point, C6Z06 require at least 18" wheels, and are 6pot. They are not the best, but they work much better then drums, and totally give you the big brake look, with most of the performance.
If you don't want to minitub, 285's at 10" are the biggest you can fit, and depending on your car, may not actually fit (you know, quality control back in the day was amazing... lol).

For a couple of dollars more, you can do Ridetech Shocks on the front, it's around twice the price as the Hotchkis/Bilistein combo, but it's probably the best Coilover you can buy. Their upper and lower A-arms are half the price of Hotchkis, so it balances out if you do the entire package. I only have a few Ridetech parts on my car, but I'm highly impressed with the quality of them, I'm probably going with their rear setup, which you could to, but it's not as much a bolt in as you seem to want. Sure does look cool, though.
Brakes jump a lot in price going from an OEM to aftermarket type. You won't really find a better deal.
yes the c6zo6 brakes look badass and work well. BUT, be aware that they require ALOT of wheel pad thickness on the front to clear them. they will not work with most off the shelf wheels without adding spacers.
I have baer track 4 fronts and track rears. if I had it to do over again, I would have went with a c5 set-up. it's probably the best bang for the buck on a non tracked car.
Or you could go with the ls1 brakes front and rear. Buy or make the front bracket, and get the rest from the junkyard. The six cylinder camaros had the same brakes as the ls1 did from 1998-2002

They're the same caliper, just different colors.

on a budget I'd run some used base C6 or C5 brakes. the C5 brakes are more easy to find and are way cheaper than c6 z brakes. plus not all 18" wheels clear the big z calipers
