I am in the process of purchasing the intake parts for my motor and I am looking for some clarity on which throttle body to get. The motor is a LS2 402 that I am putting LS3 heads on. I already have a factory LS3 intake so that limits me to a max 92mm throttle body. I could get a factory DBW 90mm throttle body for 150ish or aftermarket 92mm cable driven throttle body for 350-400. I do not have any of the electronics for the motor yet so either will work. I like the idea of saving some money with the factory, but what if anything am I leaving on the table by not getting the slightly larger one? Also, what advantage/disadvantage does one system have over another in regards to throttle blade actuation?

Hi Brian,

Cable is easy but then you have to wire in the TPS and IAC motor. Wire is more cause you have to buy the pedal and harness. Might be close to a wash if you already have the DBW TB.

If you are starting fresh, 24X reluctor, LS1 PCM, harness and run an aftermarket throttle body.

Are there any 58x reuctor ecus that have an IAC driver? If not, you'll also need a 24 to 58 converter for the cable tb.

Would you have a link to the converter Gary?

Just recalling..... some 05-06 models had LS2s with 24x reluctors. But if you need a converter.
Just looked a relatively reliable source. Some vette LS2 were 24x into 05. GTOs kept 24x reluctors into 06, so you'll need to check the crank sensor (24x black, 58x grey)
