Howdy,

I just purchased a 67 Camaro, my dream ride or at least that's my hope. The car has a strong running 350 with updated carb, intake and a Muncie 4 speed. Its currently running on oversized 15s (which i dont like) and drum brakes. it also has a 10 bolt rear, not sure of the gearing. The body is in good shape and has been primed for paint. My goal is to make it a fun reliable ride that is just as good on turns as it is down the line.

My question is where to start? After the initial excitement wore off, I spent hours sifting through parts catalogs. I'm now feeling a little overwhelmed. I'd like to upgrade to disc brakes, but should I lose my 10 bolt rear first? Is there an order to suspension upgrades? Should I go to paint first? How about a wiring kit? I realize it may all be preference, but I'd love to have a game plan to follow and I'm sure many of you have already been down this path, so I'm open to a suggested route.

Appreciate any and all advice..

What is your budget, time frame, and ultimate goal? I was in the same boat as you and ended up spending $37,000. It's a sickness, no matter what you think you will spend, add more! Then I had the luxury of getting mixed up with both driverz Inc and prodigy.... Took the fun right out of it.

Thats exactly my fear.. I love thinking about all the upgrades, but I certainly don't want to get carried away or end up in a bottomless pit.

Hey rookie...lol welcome to provide touring and the very expensive hobby that it is. In my opinion and experience is start with the safety aspects of your car for a few reasons...#1 a car is not fun when you can do 100 mph but can't turn...or stop so upgrade those areas it will help get the most out of what you got. #2 the ten bolt will hold together for now..adding a 12 bolt is just a excuse to do burn outs and dumping the clutch...which can lead to other parts breaking and your car sitting until they get fixed. #3 make sure that your wiring situation is taking care of...weather it be taping up so they don't short out or......again same as above you don't want your car to be in the shop for repairs...#4 it would be really awesome to paint the car but could you resist not driving it or holding yourself back from trying to show off how much faster your car is with your new paint job?...do you see where I'm going with this.....hope it helps best of luck.
