Need to R+R a windshield on a 2005 astro van this morning , any pointers?

If you are replacing a busted glass you don't have to worry about "saving" it right? I have removed a couple by heating the top edge with a hot air gun (go easy, don't burn the paint) and pushing them out with my feet laying on the passenger seat. Once you get it started use the hot air gun to loosen things up as you pull it out.
I have tried using those cable cutters and blades but this was the best way I've found.
