I have used MAD Enterprises products and theories on my past projects and really like dealing with Mark. I have read concerns about MAD's old NHRA style disconnect arrangement,(that I have used in the past) leaving wires hot even when the disconnect was thrown. The fact that he no longer offers support for it or will even discuss it got me looking for ways to tweak the design. My system won't protect the alternator by retaining the battery charge wire connection like MAD's used to, but I believe it is a very safe and efficient design utilizing his "new system" along with some of his old system junction blocks, (that I still had lying around). Please let me know what you think and if you see any concerns.
With all the builders on here, I figure if it makes it past the forum without concerns it is probably good to go!
Also, if you have any suggestions on a compact and high amp (140 range) alternator please post them here. I have a CS144 in the shop but it is very large for my available space and I keep thinking there should be something better with all the new car technology advances. I prefer an OE unit that I can get through local parts stores if it fails and need it to have a sense wire like the CS144.
