This was the first thing I ever restored at 18. I did all the work myself except for building the engine. I rebuilt the tranny, re-geared the axles. did the bodywork and even painted it. It started out as my first truck and I stripped it down to the bare frame and built it back up. It was a lot of fun and gave me a ton of knowledge on what to right and wrong. The biggest lesson I learned; gut the wiring and start from scratch. It has been 9 years and wiring gremlins still pop up on that thing. I need to rip out the wiring and redo it, but right now the Camaro has top priority. Here's some pics:

Not too bad for a rookie

I gotta thank George Bush for the great economy when I was younger so I could afford this for it. I don't know how many 18 yr olds get to drive around with fully dyno'd 454 pumping out 540hp

For a 6000lb truck with 37 inch tires it went pretty good.

Yea that was a brutally fast car. My buddy had a 12.5 second '80 Camaro in High School and we thought that was lightning fast.

I'm slowly doing work on my Grandpa's old truck. 86 Chev Wrangler. The last time I spoke to him I promised to restore it. Drive train on that and then tearing down and starting to build a 30x50 shop is what stopped me from finishing my 68 this summer. Ah well, what's one more year. Its only been 18.

I will always have a soft spot for the square chevys, I had way too much fun in mine in high school. I really wanna find a nice clean 1/2 ton for my daily driver. Not many around in the rust belt anymore.

65796This is what I'm working on when we don't have any customer pay for me to do. It looked pretty good from 15' away before it was media blasted. Bondo was 3" thick on the fight front fender/header panel area. The rest of the body work was also pretty much cobbled up. Going back all original I tried to get them to let me hot rod it a little.
