Finishing a project and I did not want to modify the oil pan on the engine because I had heard it can be done. Just wondering if anyone else has done it before by changing the idler arm and pitman arm for the f-body pan to fit in the stock nova chassis....

will try and post some pics....

I have an unmodified Fbody pan in my 71 Nova with stock steering. I do have a modified firewall though and no heater.

I know it can be done without modifying the firewall. The big thing is I am wondering about the steering. It looks as if we put the longer idler and pitman on the draglink and move it forward, all of this would work fine. Was just curious if anyone else has done it this way.......

how did you modify your firewall??

what did you do for the crossmember?? redrill it??

huh? what am i missing here?

i read this thread as if you were talking about using a 98-02 LS1 F body oil pan to do an LS engine swap, then i got to the last post and then got all confused- why won't a second gen oil pan fit in a 72 Nova? they are pretty much the same oil pan...
