I have a 68 Camaro with a 383 stroker, T5 trans and 7.73 gears. I'm pushing about 485 hp and I get 16mpg on the highway. It pulls very hard in first and 2nd gear as well. Not sure the difference in the 2 sets of gears but that's how I'm doing on a similar set up as you are talking about.

7.73? must do bad a$s wheelies.....

If I was starting from scratch I would go 3.73. If the 3.43 is already there run it for a while and see what you think, it won't cost you anything to not change it and you may find it works with your engine.

being a th350 I would keep the gears in it. If you want a faster take off or you want it in the powerband sooner change the torque converter to something that stalls a little higher. The gearing would probably be enough for the stroker build. What trans were you considering going to?

i'am going with a 2004r 0r maybe a 7004r trans in it.later on down the road i like to put a 5 or 6 speed stick in it.

If im not mistaken a 700r4 has a steeper first gear than a TH400 or th350...i am running a 383 700r4 342 rear and it launches pretty hard, if i keep my foot out of it (rare) i can get 16-17 mpg. Run it how it is and see if its what you want. I think 373 would be a bit much but 355s maybe a nice alternative. my2cents

If you want a stick in it and don't have a trans now why bother with an OD auto trans? Seems like a waste of money. Not like a A-OD for 500hp is a cheap proposition. trans choice matter - 1st gear and top gear. Pick a trans and ask again.
