Watching the recent Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas there was a Nova that went across the block that was painted like a Tri-5 Chevy. The thing that got my attention about that car was that all the trim and emblems were painted on but still looked like chrome. No doubt this was all air brushed but I loved the look. In that moment I knew exactly where I wanted to go with my paint job. My plan now is to remove and fill all the body trim and emblem holes then paint the car back the same color it is now with the same nose stripe then have all the emblems and trim air brushed on in the the factory locations. My biggest concern is finding a painter who can do that kind of air brushing. Does anyone here know a really good air brush artist?

you might try decals then clear coat over them as an alternative.
