Vintage air, bulkhead connector for the lines. I smoothed mine (70 SS Chevelle) and left the stock hole where the blower motor was (AC delete car) for the bulkhead / lines but if thats filled already or if you want to route differently then you can use any one of the many bulkhead connectors available from many vendors (VA also offers a different setup than what ships with the VA kit) from square 4 port to diamond shaped to round.

Take a look at VA's catalog. The different bulkhead connections for the firewall are in the back of their catalog but these are available from many places (I believe musclerodz, MCB, etc can get you all sorts of different types - MCB is GREAT to deal with, IMHO).

Also a lot of pictures of cars with smoothed firewalls and how they ran / hid the lines / connected on this site.

most of them run the vertical bulkhead right below the rt lower fender bolt, on the camaros anyway, You could run them over so they come out under the fender through grommets, I cut my firewall out all the way up to the seam right below wiper motor, then made a new piece out of poster board for a template. If you do that you will need to take some good measurements for the column, You may be better off leaving the column mount and brake mc holes all there and putting new piece around that area, I wanted mine smooth all the way across and It was a little extra work getting brake master and column to line up. I plan to try and mount wiper motor on inside if cowl, Just a lot of little things to think about. If you look up snappytravis there is a thread with some good pictures of other cars.

Hi Matt,

All of our Chevelle Gen IV kits ('64-72) allow for a smooth firewall. Check out the instructions for all of our kits here (http://www.vintageair.com/downloads.asp) or your '69 here (http://www.vintageair.com/GenIV%20systems/Chevy/chevelle/68-69chevellewac.pdf) and here (http://www.vintageair.com/GenIV%20systems/Chevy/chevelle/68%2069%20wo%20ac%20chevelle.pdf).

These kits block off the factory openings with flat steel plates sealed and bolted in place. If you plan to weld-up, smooth and paint the firewall, you'll simply want to weld mounting studs to the inside of the firewall before you paint. Also, you can either use the standard configuration which routes the hoses through the kick panel and out the original blower opening, or you can customize the install with our various bulkhead fitting options as mentioned above.

Either way, the Gen IV makes it easy.

On that note - if the firewall is already smoothed and painted and you dont want to weld on the stud(s) and then go back at the paint you can weld a stud to a small plate and then use a good panel adhesive and glue the plate with the stud welded to it to the interior side of the firewall.

My firewall is already done so just welding the stud to a plate and using panel adhesive to attach the required one / new stud to the firewall. Im talking the kind of adhesive used in place of welding to attach new panels to vehicles, not super glue :) Just throwing that out there in case it helps.

Thanks for the reply guys im still waiting on the panels from abc performance to do it with i will be running the gen IV kit too i just wanted a clean install for a/c. If i ran a one of the vintage air billet 4 way bulkheads will the gen IV kit bolt right up or would i need to do some custom lines.

You will need to get your lines crimped by someone for the fittings. Most hydraulic shops can do it. You will also need the extra length hose kit from VA if you plan in hiding the hoses in your fenders- if you haven't ordered already...
If you have smoothed your firewall already you can get the DSE bracket to mount the Geniv without attaching to the firewall as well!

Do you have insight or a link? DSE doesnt show any such brackets on their site for an A body. Two brackets available for F bodys but nothing for us lowly A body guys that I can find.
