Hey Everyone!
The engineering and fabrication teams at Chris Alston’s Chassisworks have been working like honey badgers on our latest innovation. And it’s not just us; Marquez Design is in the mix too! Today we finally got a thumbs up to launch a new section on the Chassisworks website. Keep checking back every few days for updates and I will try to post here as well. We will be posting pics of all kinds of cool new components a couple times a week all the way up until SEMA where we will have the display car that shows off even more cool stuff!
So Click Here (https://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html) to read a little teaser and check back soon for some sneak peeks, then come visit us in booth 22989!

Okay, the first new component to be released is something that has been floating around for a little while but never made it into production until now. CLICK HERE (https://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html)and scroll down to see our Billet Gun Drilled Anti-Roll Bar. You can download the PDF Data Sheet (http://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/DataSheets/5735-SMXX-12588_DS_WEB.pdf)for specs and more details. A couple of these left the building during the prototype stage, now they’re on the shelf and ready to go!
This front bar will bolt to the Chassisworks Street Machine front clips. It’s not just a Camaro piece; it’s also available for the Chevy II clips. For the guys who already have one of our clips, you can retro-fit this bar as adapters are available. It will work with both the Street Machine and the gMachine a-arms.
One benefit to this bar that’s not mentioned in the data sheet is that with it being mounted up front you gain a lot more clearance for the sump on the pan.
So there’s the first piece, I should have something more on Friday. Friday is going to be cool.

I’m a bit late on this one after a hectic day so I apologize if this is a bit short on details. Today’s SEMA Sneek Peek (https://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html) component release is our Varishock Quickset 4 Remote Reservoir coil-over. I will hereafter call it the Q4R as it’s a lot easier to say. CLICK HERE (https://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/DataSheets/VAS_11411-XX_DS_WEB.pdf) for the data sheet.
The Q4R is four way adjustable. High and low speed compression damping can be adjusted from the reservoir while high and low speed extension are adjusted on the base of the shock body. There are currently five travel lengths available that match our existing single and double adjustable bodies. The Q4R is available with bearing eye style mounts only. We have two different reservoir mounts, one that mounts to a flat surface and the other will mount to a 1-5/8" tube.
I hope everybody has a great weekend, I'll be back to answer questions and read comments on Monday.

Our new Camaro system SEMA rollout (https://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html) continues today with updates to the CDS Supercharger and Accessory Drives (http://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/DataSheets/CDS_DS_WEB.pdf). The accessory drive can run dual fuel pumps and they can be clocked at different angles for additional clearance.
These are currently running on some of the fastest centrifugal supercharged cars in the country. Each one has been custom built by Chris Alston Jr after a consultation with the customer.

There are only a few times that a car guy doesn’t mind staying late at work. For me, this is one of those times. Up until today we’ve been teasing you by posting parts that are pretty cool. From here on out, I’ll be posting the really trick parts. Not just trick, but parts that have features you haven’t seen on anything other than maybe a one-off, fully custom car. Tonight I get to post the first of what Chris calls ‘magic’ parts. These are the parts that make me love my job and get me excited!
Here's a first look at our new billet aluminum spindle and bump-steer kit. CLICK HERE (http://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html)to go to the new products intro page and read a little more detail. Click on any of the pictures on the website for a super high resolution image. I’ll post two tiny pictures below.
Stay tuned, next week I'll post information on the 14" and 15" Wilwood and Baer brake kits that are available for this spindle.

Time for a brake components update!
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/10/8378_nickle_id-1.jpghttps://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/10/8378_rotorhatcaliperrear_view2_id-1.jpg
The new gStreet billet aluminum spindle is available with 14” and 15” rotors! Think about that for a second. The 15” rotor might have a larger diameter than your car’s factory wheel. For size comparison we grabbed a large pizza box and tried to fit the rotor inside. No dice -the rotor is bigger. The new gStreet billet upright not only has a larger unit-type bearing and a trick bump-steer adjuster; it has massive brakes!
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/10/8378_pizza_ID-1.jpg
In addition to the new rotors we’ve added additional caliper options. You can now get Wilwood’s W6A six piston caliper in a nickel finish with ThermLock pistons and three different pad compounds. ThermLock blocks heat transfer from the pads into the pistons and significantly reduces the temperature of the fluid and caliper seals.
Also, we now offer a Baer caliper option- the 6S caliper. It’s available in black, red or silver and will work with the 14” or 15” rotor.

In the pursuit of more interior space, chassis rigidity and improved safety we are introducing a redesigned roll bar and a roll cage. They both come standard with a removable back brace and have many more available options. We offer two door bars, two cage-side bend profiles and three styles of hardware from racy to bling.
If you are building a custom dash we have an option to run the cage through the dash. If you have stock interior the cage can be run in front of the dash and will tuck in further forward to make it easier to get in and out of the car. The roll cage is also available in SCCA compliant DOM tubing.
For more details and some installed pictures go to the SNEAK PEEK (https://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html)page at www.cachassisworks.com or CLICK HERE (https://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/DataSheets/CamaroRollCage_DS_WEB.pdf)to read the data sheet.

Starting today we will be introducing some new components for the high-power, big tire, pro-touring machine that will help your car hook up and shoot off the corner. Our 4x2 Canted 4-link Rear Frame System is a B-pillar back system that will allow the car to sit super low while still maintaining a safe amount of suspension travel. Our SEMA display ‘69 is about 4” off the ground at the rocker and tucks a lot of rear wheel.
One of the goals in designing this system was to have something that the average builder wouldn’t be scared to work with. Installation is straight forward and does not require a chassis table or frame fixture. Both Chris and Pascual maintain that it’s less complicated than installing a pair of mini tubs. Part of what makes it so easy is that the main rear frame section ships from the Chassisworks factory fully welded to the maximum narrowed width with all the suspension pickups installed. You don’t have to do any complicated measuring or engineering; it’s already been done for you.
Over the next few days I will post more information about other components. Check out a bigger version of the picture below at the Sneak Peek page (http://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html)and click on the PDF (http://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/DataSheets/CamaroRearFrame_DS_WEB.pdf)to see more angles and read more technical data. These data sheets have a ton of information and sometimes you can see something that I haven’t talked about yet.

Amir, the system on your car was actually built by AirRide and sold by us with the Varishock coilovers. The current version of the gBar and gLink is made completely in house. The Mustang version came out first in late 07/early 08 and then somewhere around early 09 the Camaro version came out (don't quote me on those dates) so you've probably had your system more than a couple years. Time to upgrade!
Seriously though, your car is wicked and I love how it flies in the face of the status quo. Stay tuned; more magic is on the way. Hopefully I'll have something new to post tomorrow.

There were a couple teeny tiny updates today. Something about a trick new floor, lowered seat mounts, rocker panels, transmission tunnel, wheel tubs, gas tank, etc. You know, stuff that comes in handy when you need to get the car to handle, sit low, be rigid, etc. You can CLICK HERE (https://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html)to check out pictures on our site and download details on the various new data sheets.
And by the way, just because SEMA is next week doesn’t mean we’re going to stop posting up new parts. We have a phenomenal number of new parts that aren’t quite ready for the public that we are really excited about. Keep checking back.
But who cares about that? Check out my new desktop background! Warning, may be NSFW, haha!

Ya from the floors all the way to the trunk, all the metal work looks amazing! i hope it doesn't get covered with carpet.
I also like that you made the seat mounts lower, I'm 6' 3'' and made my seat mounts as low as possible so i could fit with a helmet. but the seats are a pain in the ass to take in and out.
Great job you guys are gonna kill it at sema!
Are you gonna have a car for OUSCI?
Carl @ Chassisworks
10-26-2012, 11:01 AM
The car at SEMA will not have carpet. We're a manufacturer so we figure the best way to show off our product is to let people see it. The two guys who laid every weld will also be in our booth. They will probably still be a bit sleepy though. If you have any questions, I suggest bribing them.
The floor ships from Chassisworks in sections. There is one weld in the tunnel that cuts over slightly. This is because there is more material underneath it; the two panels nest together for more accurate fitment and added strength. The seat crossmembers are already welded in; holes already machined, bosses already installed. Tall guy accomodations already made.
The whole point of this complete system is to put a level of fit and finish that would normally be reserved for a big $$$ build, Troy, Chip, etc. within reach of someone with a moderate budget. All the engineering complications are taken out of the equation. The tinwork is already built for you from the firewall seam back the tail panel. The panels are laser cut for rosette welds so you don't spend a couple hours drilling holes. (Not to mention paying someone $100 an hour to drill holes.) The tubs are already welded and smoothed. We're even going to offer the little bracket that holds the shock reservoirs straight up and down. The boss calls it 'The Silo'.
Carl @ Chassisworks

The car is in the booth and the sign is spinning. It's SEMA time!
There were a couple more new pieces posted today on the Sneak (http://[URL]https://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html) Peek page. I'm flying out in the morning so check back later for a full data sheet. Here's the crib notes.

Well, SEMA has come and gone and we had the chance to talk with some great people. There were amazing cars everywhere I looked; the only bad thing was we were so busy I didn't get to walk around more than three hours all week. The response to our new parts was overwhelming and we are really excited to see what our customers will do with this system. Hopefully we will have a chance to sit down in the next couple weeks and go over some of the comments, suggestions, and general feedback that we received last week. Some people kept coming back again and again. If anyone was at SEMA and didn't get a chance to get their question answered, please feel free to post it here.
The Pro-Touring dinner was a blast too. Lots of joking around, a TV show preview, lots of money raised for the Wounded Warrior project, and the food wasn't too bad either.
Okay, enough gushing about how much fun I had. The Sneak Peek Page (http://www.cachassisworks.com/cac_press_67-69Camaro.html)has been updated with a bunch of new pictures and a couple new data sheets. For instance, there is now a lot more detail on the Chassisworks Floater (http://www.cachassisworks.com/Attachments/DataSheets/CamaroFloater_DS_WEB.pdf)housing ends.
For those who didn't get to go here's a couple big photos of the car before it got loaded on the truck to SEMA. No, the plate is not photoshopped.

Hi Todd, I posted it just for you. :)
But seriously, it makes me happy to hear that people are thinking about safety in these old cars. Adding a cage or roll bar adds more than safety for the passengers; it adds safety for the car. When you put a bunch of power in these cars the stock chassis just doesn't stay straight for very long. We are offering a lot of different options for configuring these cages and bars from welded in bars to three different hardware options for the removable door bars.

We are currently building three customer cars in-house. If you feel like you could install a set of mini-tubs then you could probably handle this. Chris has been designing chassis kits for people to install on their own since the 1970s. All of the complicated fabrication is done for you at our factory and the difficult to work with Chevy parts are completely removed from the equation. The floor panels ship in easy to assemble sections. The rear frame kit is already pre-welded and the tubs are welded and smoothed. Give me a call and we can go over what's involved.
For anyone who is interested in doing one of these: If you're ever in Sacramento, call me. We'll set up a time for you to come by and I will personally give you a shop tour and we go over the whole package in detail.
