Hey guys, I've been looking around here for a few months now getting ideas and what not and i notice the main difference between my vehicle and other peoples is budget and time. I'm finishing off paramedic school right now so money will be limited for about another year. I'd say right now i end up with 2-500 a month spare to spend on my car. I'm very sure i could get my 66 coupe on the road again for about 500-1000 dollars, I pulled the heads off for some tweaking last year and it needs new tires and a throw out bearing. The car itself i built out of high school with disc brakes, new stock suspension, rebuilt engine, paint, interior. So Whats the better option, save the extra money for parts later on, or get it running again, and keep it running while i start saving up for the modifications to come?

Im kinda in the same boat, I dropped a new motor in and am enjoying it while I make mods. Ive had projects that get blown apart only to be sold because I get burnt out. With this one, I'm just upgrading as needed, like last week I found out I had a broken leaf spring, so I yanked the rear end out, cleaned and painted everything, and added hotchkis shackles, new shocks, brakes, etc, and it's only been down 1 1/2 weeks. Just my .02

Get it running, it might set you back a little in the money department but having a drivable project will inspire you to keep moving forward. I know having my project undrivable for a few years now makes it harder to stay motivated.
