Hi, this may be tough to follow so I apologize up front ... I have a 67 camaro with DSE mini tubs... I need to order a rear end (length).. and I am a bit nervous...
I spoke to DSE today (the person I spoke to was awesome!) and he gave me a bunch to think about... So.... I thought I might ask here...

Assume that I want good balance F to R and am running a OEM subframe... so I was thinking nothing bigger than a 295 or abouts in the rear... I lkie the low look was thinking 18 or 17 inch... I am not a fan of the deep/ deep dish... ..

Anyone running anything like this on a 67 with a quadralink? Or without is OK too what I want to get on opinion on is rear end width... right now I am thinking stock width or perhaps 1/2 inch longer on each side... this way I wont have a massive lip which I don't really like..... Also was hoping for off the shelf rims... i cant afford custom made wheels....

thoughts appreciated....

Do some searching, I don't remember specifically where I saw them but in just looking at pictures I have seen a number of first gens with factory corvette wheels that look great. I would think that by using a stock length rear you would be more able to use standard approaches and known combinations of wheels not to mention that a stock length rear will cost less.

Agreed.. all of the vette rim guys are using adapter plates (monster spacers) I believe.

Your best bet would be to buy the rim tire package you want , place them under the car,
And measure for the rear end length you need.

^^^sound avice here. I just bought a new wheel and tire combo and had to narrow my rear 3/4" on each side to make it work. the new wheels were only 1" wider than the old ones so I added an inch of back. well, it didn't work out that way.

as for wheels and tires, it's cheaper to buy once. even if it takes a little longer. a 295 is a waste of a mini-tub (it's really not much bigger than a 275 that fits in a stock tub). that is what I ran early on. but that extra space in the wheelwell just kept calling out to me. I finally gave in and bought new centerlines and 335's. off the shelf 9.5's for the front and custom 11's for the rear. yes, centerline will build custom widths for a very nice price. not to mention that while I don't care for a massive lip on a pro-tour car, I don't like a flat faced vette wheel either.
