The folks at Jet Hot Coatings, along with help from DSE have yet again outdone themselves. At RTTHs they took Friday and held a day of instruction which gave people a chance to learn the fundamentals about autocrossing. They provided some of the best drivers in our segment to be instructors. I want to publicly thank both companies for their commitment to our hobby and all the hard work that went into making this happen. I had several new comers tell me how much they appreciated the training and how much they learned that day. I highly recommend that if you get the chance to do a school with Get Started Racing that you do it and get some one on one instruction. This is probably the most laid back training course and very basic as to explaining what the hobby is all about. The thought behind this school was to give folks some basics before they try say a Goodguys autocross in front of several 100 people and get embarrassed by doing something stupid. You might be surprised at some of the people that have gone through the class and you might see running at the next GGs show.
Thanks again Jet Hot and DSE for taking the time to help out our hobby.

Kudos from me as well. Both companies are top notch and an asset to our Pro-Touring efforts. We've got all the aftermarket upgrades available for our cars and as the "shoe" behind the wheel either makes or breaks it, improving our driving completes the package.

Thanks Bill ...

I was there along with my g/f Kim who is an autox newcomer. She had Billy Utley and Kyle Tucker as instructors...who better to learn from?? We both came away learning a ton from the school!

I cannot thank Jet Hot and DSE enough for puting on this school. It was very laid back while being very instructional as well. Having two courses was a nice touch. The second course was very tight but that made it that much more of an education. Piloting my monte through that last chicago box was an eye opener to the correct line!!!

Thanks again!!!

Is there any schedule of upcoming "Get Started Racing" events?

I learned so much about something I have come to love. I love driving my car fast. What better way to drive it than at an autoX event? Does one have to do a school like this to do an Optima Ultimate road race? I would love to do one of those.

My wife is going to do the women's school Cheryl Herrick from Jet Hot was talking to her about it. She loves speed but needs to be in control. I scared the crap out of her. Lol.

It is not required Brian, but highly recommended. Groups like NASA or Track Daze have events several times and at several tracks.Go do an HPDE 1 event. NASA-SE has one this fall at CMP in Kershaw, SC. You will have a blast and will be much better prepared for a ASCS Road course event. Thanks Mike. I will check it out. I won a gift certificate to EVO driving school so I'm gonna go do that as soon as I can.

Evolution High Performance Driving Schools are excellent and I've attended Phase One and Two. Ten years ago, these types of schools were few and far between. Now there are several excellent ones and a great place to learn how to drive what you build. Jet Hot has really stepped up their presence by becoming involved in these schools and it's much appreciated by all.

I wish I had been able to attend on Friday - I felt very much behind the curve on Saturday after seeing how good everyone was driving. Lesson learned! I will definitely sign up for the next one in the south east.

You and me both, Geoff. The driver mod is the most important mod to any car.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the Get Started Racing (GSR) event at RTTH. It was all the attendees that made it a great day! We love seeing everyone out there using their stuff. If you did not get to attend and would like to, or if you did attend and want more, keep your eyes peeled for more Get Started Racing events in 2013... Happy racing!
