so iīm getting my ls2 in a short while and i need headers. problem number 1: steeroids rack&pinion, problem number 2: want to keep my mech. clutch linkage, number 3: ATS road race oil pan.
i wonīt mind about getting a hydraulic clutch but definitely canīt and wonīt get rid of the rack&pinion and i donīt know if the oil pan could cause any trouble. now i searched all over the forums but nothing that fits my needs so i start a new thread and hope that somebody did it before. there was no feedback from steeroids yet. the headers i used on my BBC with the raised brodix heads were Hooker competition 2" and they did fit fine with some minor dimples but i donīt know if the hooker routing of the ls headers are the same but anyways if i can fit a BBC a LS should give me wayyyy more clearance but i know murphyīs law. now i found shorties, mid length, or long tube headers, i would love to stick with full length but wonīt afford a set of really expensive ones (should stay in the 500-600$ range like dynatech/hooker/.....) the ls is just a try to replace the 540 so i need to keep the budget as low as i can. but whatīs the deal with mid length headers? do they give me more clearance? or should i even go with stock GM? how about clearance there? if thereīs somebody who has any detailed pictures of their headers on driver side i would really appreciate it if i could get them on my email with part.nr. so i can figure out. i hate to be a pita with 10000 questions but like always the cost of shipping and taxes to europe doubles the price and returning is usually more expensive than the header itself.
