I got a chance to visit Cobra Automotive in CT and am still amazed at the real vintage iron they race, maintain, and restore up there. It isn't exactly Pro-Touring due to all the historic racing rules the vintage guys have to follow, but it is as hard-core and as cubic-dollar as anything any of us do on this site.
I had no idea the shop was as cool as it was or I would have brought the Nikon. I took a bunch of cell phone pics kicking myself the whole time. Just posting them up here without much explanation etc, but suffice to say if you ever get the chance to visit, do so. They really are a bunch of great guys that have a singular focus on racing and winning vintage races.

As you walk in, there is $2M Cobra from Carroll Shelby's race team. A never titled, straight to Shelby racing for 1965 racing season.
Real GT40s. One of them never on the road, straight to Ford Racing team. The other was titled and worth about $700k.
Two of the Daytona Coupes that raced in '65 and won the Championship. Can you imagine.
Real Cobra's and Shelby's all over the place.
I can only imagine the money involved in owning, maintaining, and campaigning these around the country like the guys do. One of the numbers I heard thrown around was to run in Daytona 24 hour is about $150k. And that is not the car. That's team expenses for the week.
Anyway, enjoy the pics.
