Hi all,

I'm a long time lurker here....like 7+ years and finally saying hello and looking to dig in with you guys. I am just an amateur but a true addict and I hope to meet some new folks and contribute wherever I might be able to.

Quick run down on my ride:

1970 Chevelle SS in the midst of a frame off, hope to have it done by this time next year but as we all know things happens so..well...

Chassis:

Fully boxed, reinforced / gusseted, etc / truckarm / screwjacks / panhard bar

Suspension / brakes / rear end:

ATS / AFX spindles
Varishock double adjustables on all corners
550 / 600 lb front springs 150 / 200 rear (deciding at the moment)
Hellwig sway front and rear (working out an adjustable rear bar with Hellwig that will work / clear my truckarms. Already have the front bar and the rear PT bar but rear doesnt quite clear / fit)
Hydratech hydroboost and BAER brakes (13 inch front / 12 inch rear)
Lee 670 box
Moser 12 bolt w 3.42's

Engine / trans:

Carb'd 496, 290 AFR's, Pro-systems carb
Aluminum rad / electric fans / vintage air front runner w pulleys in black
5speed swap but up in the air at the moment. Had ordered an RS600 and went through that debacle and ended up bailing out. Waiting to see what happens with the SS700 or will suck it up and go with a TKO or swap rear gears and do a tremec swap.
Vaprowrx / ricks tank with internal ZL1 pump / return line set up due to carb'd

Interior:
VHX gauges, TMI sport seats, legendary panels, clayton machine works pedals, vintage air

Wheels - 18's, planned on some newgens I had my eye on but we all know what happened there so I am hunting for wheels now.

My plan is to build sort of a Chevelle trans am car that never was. No EFI / LS swap on this car because I am just comfortable with BB's and for this car, its just the way it will be. Mix of old school / new school but its keeping the BB for life (it was built with one and will die with one). Induction through the high beams and CIBIE swap lights on the lowbeam side.

I hope look forward to noodling through my build with you guys. Just wanted to say hello. Spent years and years on Team Chevelle and I love the guys there, without question....but this here site is more my "speed" if you will.

Thanks for reading, some truly amazing vehicles and knowledge on this site. I hope I dont lower the bell curve.

I'll get some pics of the chassis and body up later today. Its not much to look at right now, in the midst of the body work and still swapping out good parts for better parts but will give an idea of what I am working with.

I'll get the shots up later today. Need those up so I can get honest critiques. I know the truckarm stuff isnt optimal or the best / most hardcore stuff out there and I know it has its detractors but I figured what the heck and decided to take this car that route just to see what I can squeeze out of her.

Thanks guys! really looking forward to working through it with all the knowledge here and ringing it out once its done.

Couple of pics I had quick access to. Not the best but....

What I started with:

Chassis (brakes, steering box, shocks all to be replaced soon)....please dont mind the chincy chrome diff cover, its just a temp cover:

Body / frame fitting:

Body is in the baked on powdercoat primer in the above shot with the underside being semi finished in black.

Car is going to get Lizard skin throughout the interior side of the body and in the trans tunnel / rear wheel wells and trunk. Rest of the exterior side of the floorpans are going to remain in black paint.

Thanks for looking. I'll get a project thread up and running soon. I am expecting a ton of new parts in the next couple of weeks and will be digging back in full bore on the build after some snags / breaks and body shop debacles.

EDIT - Seems my pictures disappeared. Not sure why. Moving on, will have pics in a build thread later.
