I have been on this site for a while and noticed that some people have these car stands that look to be homemade? It looks to me like people use them rather than having a lift, or to be able to work on their cars that are very low to the ground. Does anyone have a template, or specs on how to make them? This is the only photo that I could find. It is from tommycomfort's build page. I am looking for something exactly like this.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was looking for. And for the record I did use the search button, but had no luck.

I have a few set of them- great when you have multiple cars that need to be elevated! They are pretty simple to make, too.

I didn't mention it in my "how to" post I linked to above because I hadn't tried this yet.

Like many here I have a 2 car garage. A 2 car isn't quite big enough to work on a car comfortably with another also in the garage yet we don't want to keep the other car outside during extended projects. So I tried using my rolling wheel cribs under the stands. I've done it with all 4 wheels on a car or using 3 when there's very little weight on the front like the pic below. I can pull the other car out, center the project car in the garage to work on it, and then return things to normal with both cars back in the garage when I'm done working for the day. It's surprisingly stable so anyone reading who hasn't tried it please don't offer comments about how dangerous you think it MIGHT be. After the car has been rolled into position the wheels are rotated so the stands don't want to roll easily, after finishing work the wheels are turned so the castors are aligned to roll in the direction you want to move the car. I try to shift or upset every car I raise off the ground before working on it whether it's on a lift, wheel cribs, rollers, jackstands, or whatever.

Easy to make,

I made mine 16" long and 12" high. That size works the best for 275-315-335's, its what we work with on a daily basis.

It took 10 sticks of 2"x4" 6 screws in each board.
2x4's came in 8ft sections, 96" cut at 16" long so 1 stick gave me 6 pieces.
Each block was 12" high, each block took 16 16" pieces. I like to use screws cause you can break em down if you need a shorter block.
