67 Firebird fenders

Calling 1st gen firebird owners. I'm having a problem aligning the fenders up properly. I keep moving the shims(thick and thin) around in different areas of the fender. Is there a base line to start with the shims?

1. Make sure your doors are lined up properly.
2. Hang the fender with no shims and study the fit.
3. Starting at the rear of the fender add shims to line up, moving from rear to front
4. Lather, rinse, repeat, until it looks right.
