Now that I have my floor pans fixed its time to start on the rest of my rust bucket. Both of my frame rails are rusted out bad. Driver side rear spring mount is completely gone! Both inner wheel wells are rusted out also. So my plan is to replace the frame rails with 2x4 tube and do a minitub. Now comes the the issue. I've been looking at the Ridetech 4 link for a while now and Speedtech's torque arm set up. Question I have is witch one would be best for a car that is used only on the street? In reality I don't ever see me taking her to a track but I would like to be ready if I do

Joe,

We can put together a Torque Arm kit for your Firebird for a 10 bolt or 12 bolt or a kit that includes a Ford 9" housing. Since you are fabricating your own frame rails we can work with you on that too by offering a kit with the upper crossmember un-welded so you can easily fit it to your specs!

Here is our display 67-69 F-Body frame:

BTW: We also have parts for your Monte, Rgal & Gran Prix!

both have pros and cons.

I would go with price an ease of install for your setup.

From the browsing I've done, they are about even on price and install. I'm leaning towards ridetech 4 link because I'm going to use there truturn setup. 275 on front with my stock sub would be killer. But I also know that there 4 link limits exhaust routing and not 100% sure that I can mount that setup to the frame rails I'm going to fab up. Still no email back from them yet. Speedtech emailed me back and told me as long as I put the rails back in factory location I should be good. Need to email BMR far as cost for a custom set up to match what I would like to do with frame.

I have the Speed Tech torque arm & install was pretty easy! My bud has a DSE 4 link & i know he had to cut/weld that extra "hump in the trunk pan above the axle.
One other difference is the type of exhaust you can run...i wanted to run an X-pipe but can't with the 3link- stuck with a H pipe where as the 4 link you can. But i do have room to run 3" up over the axle where i don't think u can on 4 link?

I'm also not sure about the handling differences between the two... Hopefully someone can chime in!

The Truturn is compatible with most replacement components on front subframes so your choosing a rear should not be determined off the truturn.

Like I mentioned before we could just sell you a kit with the pictures upper crossmember un-welded and un-coated so that you can fit it to your rails that you put in where you decide to put them.

Guess I could of been more clear about truturn setup. What I ment was I was just going to go with one company instead of mix n match.
Josh, thanks for the info. I live in part of the world where road maintenance is not high on the to do list, so exhaust under the axle is a no go. I wanted to run an H pipe anyway so that answered that question.

every set-up has pros and cons. mixing and matching is the best way to customize your set-up for it's intended usage. my suspension is made up from the best of ridetech, speed-tech and sc&c. and I wouldn't change one darn thing.
