Is everyone having problems getting parts or is it just me lately ? I had a hard time finding a full quarter panel not too long ago but i was able to find one, recently I have been looking for a complete trunk pan and everyplace that offers them is out of stock and do not know when they are getting them (sept is the best guess i got)
I know that the shops themselves are not to blame but it sucks to make some decent progress and then have to stop :banghead:

The rumor from Ricks 1st gen was that alot of parts are going to the pre-made shells that they are coming out with.

That is total crap, I have heard exactly oppisite. That they were not selling. The reason for your quater panel issue and now trunk floor is retooling issues. I bet you needed 67 / 68 panels? What year trunk do you have.

What year is your car, I have a extra trunk kit I got for Prodigy I do not need.

It is a 67, if the kit has the edge that "flares" up and meets up to the tail panel then I would be happy to take it off of your hands.

I had to cut out the entire trunk & tail panel due to the car being rear-ended.

Everyone better hurry up and order their parts. All the retailers are going up considerably on their prices due to the increased cost of steel and gas. The retailers are saying they can`t absorb the cost anymore and the suppliers are going up as well.

That is because OER raised there dealer prices 10% last month. to 15%

The kit I have is on pge 498 of Classic's catalog, I either have the R8500 or R8501. I just need to see if mine includes the reinforcments or not. You can have it if you need it. I was going to save it for my 68, but I will be able to get another one by the time I am ready to start that car.

It's been like that on certain performance items as well. David (Myclone) had to wait almost two damn months for his Russell Endura fittings because nobody had them in stock and even Russell/Edelbrock had little clue as to when they would have the correct ones for me. I saved him a little cash and was even going to order them from Jegs or Summit and absorb the cost just so he could get them in a timely fashion but they were special order for those guys as well-which meant factory back/order and more wait time. I pushed some buttons at Edelbrock and they got them all out for me but it sucked! I have to again thank David for his patience and understanding. Now, if I can get Keystone to stock a complete line of the black fittings, I'll be set! -Jabin
