Hey guys..

Where is the best place (ie. best price and quality) to get front C5 vette parts? I will need upper and lower a-arms, spindle and such. Can't say that I am a vette expert so any tips would be appreciated.

Also, if you are running a c5 set-up and you don't like the ride heigth how can you change it? different springs?

Pretty sure Penny will be getting that trick subframe from 21st Century to replace her Mustang II set-up. Gonna put the finished product through the paces and see how good it really is.

Thanks for any input.

So for the uppers and lowers Steve...no idea (sorry) Here's what i've discovered on the rest..
-Hub and Bearing Assembly: no ****, Autozone. ($155 ea from Timken)
-Front abudment and caliper :GM stealership (ask for the #2001 pricing; it's the code for wholesale and you'd be surprised at how often they don't ask you anything about it and just give it to you. Pretty sure it's the same for all Chevy dealership parts dept. but I know it works for all the ones out here in Vegas) Calipers are $100 ea. and abudment brackets are $30ea.)
-Rotors: If you're not pursuing trendy slots and holes; Autozone sells nice 13" durastop ones (that look suspiciously OEM) with a lifetime warranty for $55ea.
-Pads: Pep Boys *has in stock* the heavy street/mild race pads from Hawk for $65

I've done a lot of looking and ultimately came to this price vs. quality list for our recent assembly on the Chevelle. My suggestion for uppers and lowers is a corvette wreckyard...get them blasted then powdercoated. Don't know what kind of budget you're on working for PHR now but this is a good place to start.... :)

Thanks...

This is my cash.. I don't have to get every dang part for free.. that is just annoying and you end up with a mile long source box.. lol..

I will go aftermarket brakes so thats a deal.. just the upper, lowers bearing and uprights..

This one is a little far away:
http://www.michigancorvette.com/
but I'm sure a search will find similar ones near you. You can also try:

www.car-parts.com
It is searchable by state.

Good luck,
Ken

Steve,
I placed a WTB ad on the Corvette Forum. I paid $400 for the parts you're looking for.

Keith, about the "the ask for the #2001 pricing" you mentioned. Is that "pound 2001 pricing", "number 2001 pricing" or just "2001 pricing". Want to make sure I know te password :)

Just ask to please be extended the 2001 pricing.....tell me if it works in your area...I'd be curious to know. If they catch you, play stupid and say you're from Vegas :)

Oh, I didn't mean it like that! I just meant i'm not sure what kind of money you make with PHR so I wasn't sure the budget you had to work with. We just passed the 25K mark on the Chevelle and we're pinching our pennies, believe you me!!!! It would do you very well, Steve, to call Marcus at SC&C and ask him his pricing for the vette stuff. He sold me my knuckles, custom made my arms, told me about the Autozone price on the hub & bearings and probably could refer or get you the uppers and lowers. He can be reached at 610-346-8805 EST and I still believe that he is one of the most talented suspension engineers this hobby has to offer.... :)
