does the air-ride stay where its set even when the car is off or do you have to start it and let the bags reinflate

The bags should stay where they're at when you shut it off. If it's not holding pressure, there's something wrong. But they also sell coil over setups, so you don't have to worry about any air lines.

If you are looking for the nice stock style (But not stock) items the UMI items are an excellent items.
Our items are built to replace the factory items and be direct bolt on's. Our upper control arms, lower control arms and panhard bars are all direct bolt on's of the factory items and work with new or existing shocks and springs. It all depends on what you are looking to achieve from the car and what your budget allows.
If I can help any please ask. Thanks!

The bags should stay at whatever air pressure you put them at. If not, there is a leak somewhere in the system.
If the air ride system is not within your budget, you can use the Strong Arms with our coilovers - which are among the best in the industry. They are nitrogen charged monotube shocks with one-piece impact forged bodies. The NA Series have rebound and compression damping optimized for ride quality. The next step up is our SA Series that have adjustable rebound damping so you can fine tune the ride/handling to your liking. At the top of the list is our TA Series with adjustable rebound damping and adjustable high/low speed compression damping. To determine the best coil spring rate for the type of driving you intend to do, you can use our Spring Rate Calculator (http://www.ridetech.com/tech/spring-rate-calculator/). After you provide the requested info, the calculator will give you three suggestions for sping rate - Cruiser/Daily Driver, Performance Driving, and Racing.

Hey Casey. Our boxed trailing arms are many times stronger than factory. This is a vague answer on purpose ("many times stronger" isn't so legit in the engineering world) since there really is no industry standard for strength measurement. Let's just say you can put as much tire and engine as you want on a UMI bar car and it's all good. 40 year old arms get sketchy with rust, big tires and big power.
Let us know if we can help.
