got my new wheels and tires mounted yesterday. the wheels are satin finished centerline champ 506's in 18x9.5's and 18x11's (yes centerline will make custom widths at a very affordable price). the tires are kdw's in 275 and 335.
I was so worried about that massive 335 fitting. the great news is that THE REARS FIT!!!.....sort of. somehow I made a mistake on the backspacing and the sidewalls were flush with the outer fender lips and I had 1.25" on the inside. so what is a guy to do??? lop 5/8" off of each side of the rear to make those awesome tires fit, of course. once I saw them under the car there was no going back. so new axles are on the way from moser and right now the rear rotors are removed to get enough clearance to set the car down and start aligning the front end. better pics will follow when the car is mobile. the 9.5's and 275's fit the front courtesy of a ridetech tru-turn kit. my patriot manual trans spec shorties required mods on the driver's side to fit. but I'm waist deep in it now, so no biggie. anyway, on to the crappy phone shots.

Looks great, I just put the same size tire, different wheels on my 69.
How close are you yo the bump stops on the front?
Does the tru turn kit use a drop spindle?

thanks.

yes the tru-turn only works with ridetech's 2" drop spindle. I just bought the upgrade kit because I have had their spindles on my car for about 2 yrs.

my sc&c a-arms don't have bump stops. they have progressive rate jounce bumpers. I thought that they were bumpstops until Mark explained that they had much more give and progressively slowed suspension movement instead of just stopping it abruptly. I am about half an inch above them, but my car has seen more than 3" of travel at the wheel in bump. my sub will touch down well before the shocks will bottom.

That is cool. I didn't know C/L had started making any old school wheels in bigger diameters.

I didn't either. but when I found out that they did, I had to have a set. and my best friend has the hots for a set of autodrag 3's in 18". nothing like timeless old school designs melding with modern size rubber and brakes.

centerline will also make custom widths cheaper than anyone else. I was told 3 weeks build time and they shipped out 3 weeks to the day later.

I have nothing but great things to say about centerline on this deal. Louie took great care of me.

I like them, they bring back memories. My dad ran them on at least two different cars (old 15" version of course)!

Love the Centerlines way to think outside the box...

looks good! glad to see they scaled the holes to an 18 and didn't just add dia to the 15" wheel layout!

Cool wheels. I like the scaled up look too.

I remember these on Lil' John Buttera rides in my younger days. I have always liked this look.

It really matches the car!
