guys iīm thinking about a intake swap cause the weiand x-elerator i have now was a rectangle and welded up to fit oval port heads and ported back to rectangle so the ports are messed up. i have brodix bb2-x heads on my solid roller 540 so i want to stick with brodix intakes to get the ports nearly right up. port matching wonīt be a issue but i donīt want to remove heads or my engine by now. was looking at the hv 2000 single or hv 2016 dual plane intake. which one would be the better way to go. engine is streetdriven and so it getīs shifted most of the time between 4-5000 rpm. cam is fairly mild with .650" lift and 245° @50.

Here's the thing. A single plane will probably deliver more high end power, while a dual plane will probably deliver more bottom end.
You've got 540 inches. Where do you think you'll need more help?
I say go with a single plane, as getting bite will be hard enough off the line already. Once you've got traction and are moving up the tach toward 7,000 rpm, you might actually be able to use the additional power the single plane can give you.

sounds like a good plan scott :) was thinking about that already but wasnīt that sure. i mean throttle response and driveability never been an issue cause the engine idles perfekt at 900rpm and even lower wonīt be a problem. leaving off i can smoke tires easy till 3rd gear but like in my dyno thread it start to leave me from 4500rpm up so iīm trying to work the bugs out and the intake is definitely one of my problems.
That is one way to look at it. The other is, will you actually ever use any of the power you might gain above 6000 RPM? yea, you may not "need it down low, but if you give to the top end and never use it then, in my opinion, it is wasted.
I just swithed my 540 from from a victor Jr to a air-gap. My cam is a bit more aggersive, but it idles better now and the low end fun factor has increased a notch.
