Earls 502 Oil themostat

I have this filter adapter/oil thermostat, but im not sure which is the inlet and outlet for the cooler.

Is the outlet port to the cooler the port on the left? and the inlet from the cooler on the right, closet to the fitting?

I forget which way the oil flows through it, but the outlet to the cooler is always open. Just pour some cold water through it to see which port it comes out of. IIRC it was the port closest to the fitting in your pic
