The bird was renovated 6 years ago and has not been in traffic for the last 12 years. Me and Mario, my mechanic, have been working about 3 weeks to get it up and running. All the basic have been checked and all liquids changed. Lot of work to get the electrical system to work as intended. The engine 305 did not run good with the 2 bbl carb so my Cherokee GM TBI for a 350 was transplanted  a new intake had to be installed to fit the TBI. Mario in picture with hard wired dash gauges..

Lars,
Welcome to Pro-Touring. You're the second guy I've met in the PI with a Firebird- I met a guy named Rommel who has a 68 Firebird over at Firebird Nation Forum.

I also am a Firebird guy and a kababayan- I have a 72 Esprit, 76 T/A restomod w/a 77 nose, and a 75 Formula 400. I live in Valencia, CA- let me know if I can help you get any parts.

Hi Geno

Nice to be here, there are Firebird's & Camaro's in the Philippines, a few of them for sale..found these today :)

- 1980 FIREBIRD FORMULA 4 9L 301 CID project car ................... http://sulit.com.ph/6315998

Plus a few more, but the restored cars are rapidly being exported to Australia, mostly Mustang's.

I am working on my 77 Esprit in Angeles City when I am at home I live in Subic and commute more or less daily but even a hobby needs a day off in the week hehe so I am in Subic in the weekends.

Yes, I am hunting parts, 1550$ worth of parts on the way. Shipping them by air its going to cost me a fortune :hammer::smoke:

I am missing a lot of parts from the interior and AC..... :candle:

Here is my friend Ronny's 74 400 during race 2010 in SBMA race track (not there anymore):nopity:

My 5 year project Cherokee FSJ... its almost done hehe

Hi Lars,
I find it interesting that few if any 1st and 2nd gen Firebirds w/ Pontiac V-8 power exist in the PI, but I get it- Chevy V-8s are cheap and getting the car running is the first priority. I'm sure as time progressed alot of Pontiac engines got pulled in favor of cheaper Chevy power. Pontiac V-8's will always cost more to rebuild than a Chevy, but once you experience the torque Pontiacs are famous for you'll know why alot of Pontiac fans spend the money. I know it's not practical over there in most cases -just saying.

I see US muscle car prices have come to the PI- crazy prices, just like over here (lol). Alot of Firebird guys still rock Old School 15" wheels here too (me included)- unfashionable but cheaper 15" rubber is better than your car on blocks any day.

PM me with your parts list and I'll see if I can help you.

Hi Geno

Starts to get difficult to get any V8 engine in the Philippines and with papers even more so... I have not seen any diesel conversions of muscle cars yet hehe Newer Suburbans and Expeditions get the suspension ripped out and a diesel put in as their new roles as funeral cars.

Importing a engine to the Philippines is very expansive due to import restrictions, parts can still be shipped... some even dismantle a new engine and ship it as parts. Importing limit for a normal person is $500.... Having a contact in US is essential who knows how to work the system. Still, a part shipped by sea are 3 months away.
