The Key to The GMR / Brake Man Pro-touring system is how it operates and performs when pushed to the limit. With patented technology in both the internal “bridges” and dual crossover tubes the Brake Man calipers are able to produce more brake torque with substantially higher levels of stiffness at operating temperature. This reduction of flex at operating temperature is key, your brakes will feel stronger, more consistent, and last longer.

One of the often overlooked and hidden components to a brake system is the mounting of the caliper. Although radial mounts offer great tune ability they also offer more flex then is desired for extremely stiff calipers such as the Brake Man Tornado. Billet Aluminum Radial mounts are good for adjustment, but have no place on a true pro-touring race application such as this package.
To complement the stiffness of these incredible calipers the GMR offers very specific Lug Mounts that are precision water-jet from 3/8″ steel. These Lug Mount calipers will offer a far stiffer / rigid mount for the calipers to operate off of, drastically reducing the flex that is often associated with radial mount setups.

The Steel bolt on C6 Lug mount bracket is designed to complement the strength of the caliper, not fight it. Notice in the picture above that the bracket used to bolt the caliper to the upright actually bolts to the interior bridge bolts. These are the bolts that extend completely through the caliper and patented bridges to provide the most rigid caliper mount on the market. Just another unique component to the GMR / Brake Man Front Pro-touring package.
With Industry leading caliper stiffness at operating temperature and unique internal piston O-rings the Brake Man Calipers are the industries ONLY ZERO-DRAG calipers!

With plenty of stiffness in the brake system and more performance then ANY comparable calipers in its range the next obvious question is weight… Due to the increased brake torque, reduced temperatures, less drag, and stiffness of the Brake Man calipers we are able to obtain pure brute stopping strength with a 13 inch by 1.25 rotor, thus making this setup very light in the rotational mass department, a slimming 13.3 pounds for high performance rotor.
Does the Brake MAn use Steel in the calipers? Yes, the bridges of the calipers are steel along with other components, this is one element to how the caliper is so stiff at operating temperature. Don’t let this change your opinion on the “weight” of the Brake Man components. If you notice the image above, the rear F4 caliper with brake pads weighs in at a low 8.1 pounds.
All of this technology and patents directly relate to some great performance aspects in a road-race / pro-tour platform. You will be able to increase power, ZERO-DRAG calipers will literally give you FREE power to the ground, less resistance directly relates to more power. You will NOT find any way to increase power / performance this inexpensive in your car, its just not possible.
These calipers significantly help to eliminate the dreaded “Mid-Corner Push” that often causes frustration among drivers and chassis engineers. The Instant release of the pistons will instantly free up the chassis through a turn, making the suspension more predictable, responsive, and stabilize the roll center. The Tighter the track, the more important this one element becomes.

Providing the Clamping force and “bling” is the patented Brake Man F3 caliper with a symmetrical 4 piston design that houses 1.5 inch pistons . This caliper incorporates a unique crossover tube that is impervious to damage along with a uniquely designed steel “C” section that resists bending far better than bolts! This major improvement in caliper deflection means substantially improved pad life and lower operating temperatures.
Backing the Caliper up are Brake Pads designed specifically for the rigors of high performance braking applications. We have two different compounds available to complement your setup. For the lighter track condition applications we suggest the #82 compound, for serious track usage we can provide you with optional #85 compound.
The other key player to the GMR Pro-Tour brake system is the uncommon 13 inch rotor, typically in the pro-touring industry “big” meant better. That is no longer the case with brakes, although 14 rotors do perform great, the idea with the Brake Man is that if you do not need all the weight then it does not belong on your car. With all the advancements in the calipers we suggest using a 13 by 1.25 rotor for the ultimate in rotational mass reduction.
Each GMR / Brake Man Pro-Touring C6 Front Brake Package includes the following:
Two F4 Lug Mount calipers with 1.87″ pistons
Two Directional Pro-Cast rotors
Four Brake Man Pads compound #82
GMR rotor adapters are available for additional investment
Initial Investment of the package is $2280.20
Part Number GMR-TBM-PT-FC6ST
