OK, someone please take a shot as to what should/could be done with this big ole ugly bumper on this car?

trim out the top area of the bumper, & move it back so the point of the bumper is only 1" forward of the hood/grill. shorten the sides so that the bumper ends go no further back. & I like the idea of tucking the sides in.

Shortened and tucked:

And one more. I thinned out the front bumper on this one as well as shortening the ends and tucking it in.

This bumper is more integrated:

This bumper is more integrated:
Manuel, I like where you were going with that, but the passenger side bumper would have to stick out a little further in real life.
Piggy backing on Manuel's idea of the driving lights and opening in the bumper:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/08/FrontprofileHornetw186-1.jpg
or you could paint the front bumper body color, or have it black chromed like:

Considering the OP hasn't been back since his original post, I'm assuming this is another exercise in futility.

Well, that was the whole point of my photoshop, the bumper not sticking out of the body. :)
Take a look at this Charger: https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
The perfect Pro-Touring bumper.

I'm not knocking your ideas, just saying that the 'shop you did has the driver's side sticking out past the body, while the passenger side bumper would somehow poke into the front of the body. I'm by no means a photoshop expert/guru/whatever. I was just pointing out that with your design was a little assymetrical. I agree that the more tucked it is, the better it would look, and that charger looks sick.
Just look at your passeger side bumper and tell me how it wouldn't stick back through the front fascia under the headlight.

Thank you ALL for you thoughts and impute. some feedback on the ideas:
Pulling the bumper in towards the grill a big plus on looks.
Adding the "grill" opening on the bumper another plus since eventually we will need more air flow for the inter cooler.
Have considered turn signals integrated into the bumper and replacing the signal in the grill with driving lights.
Tucking the ends of the bumper into the fenders looks like it might work but will consider letting them stick out possibly a half inch to keep to bumper looking like.. well a bumper. As apposed to a molded in front clip. Appreciate you helping me visualize what a smoothed in bumper would look like.
Black chrome or body color looks really cool to me as well. nice idea.
Sectioning the bumper looks good as well. still maintains the factory look just much cleaner lines for the front end.
Very nice work to everyone! I really appreciate the help and ideas.
Need to find an extra bumper to start chopping on and incorporate you ideas!

Some of the ideas incorporated so far:
narrowed bumper 6" and tucked the ends into the fenders(created pockets into the fenders), trimmed the length of the bumper(wrap around) ends down 2". Tucked the bumper in towards the grill. sectioned the bumper 1.5" removed mounting bolts and incorporated signals into the bumper. Added driving light in the original signal pods in grill.
Still need to add grill opening and paint body color. Also wanting to add "Mopar Challenger hood scoops" to hood and remover the hood emblem. Most likely will remove side markers as well.

Manuel, I get what you were showing me on the bumper concept. I appreciate to photoshop work you did.
67-rally, Thank you as well!
Everyone that took the time to show design ideas really helped me decide what to do before hacking up the front bumper on the "X". I like how smooth the Charger bumper is but not sure it works on the Hornet nose due to the "bug eyed" headlights. Amazing how well the smoothed and tucked bumpers look on the Javelins and AMX's though.
Thanks, Wynn

Will do, Also going to eliminate the rubber trim off both the front and rear bumpers. Considering just giving the bumpers a brushed steel look or body color until I can get them re-chromed. Wanting somewhat of a factory look so you would need to spend some time looking at the car trying to figure out what looks different with the car.
