Brief History: My dad was a mechanic, so I've been around cars all my life. When he opened his own shop I went to work for him. My wife & I opened a small performance/restoration shop in southern Oregon in late 2002 that specializes in musclecars, but more specifically Novas. Over the past 10 years we have met some great people in all different areas of the automotive and aftermarket industry, manufacturers, shop owners and other car enthusiasts. Last year I had the opportunity to be involved in the suspension challenge hosted by Chevy High Performance magazine. While there I got the chance to ride with Danny Popp in a friend's Nova & Kyle Tucker in two of the DSE cars. All I can say is, "I've seen the light!" & been bitten big time by the Pro-touring bug. Prior to that I had mainly been involved with drag racing. This year I got my wife a ride with Stacy Tucker during a GG's autocross event & she absolutely loved it.

Upcoming Project: This winter 2012/2013 we are going to be undertaking a project with our "shop car" a 1965 ChevyII that is driven pretty much everyday. It is currently powered by a 400 sbc, turbo 350 transmission. Plans are for DSE front & rear suspension & an LS/T56 conversion. When its done we still plan on driving it everyday, but will be also taking it with us to some of the events we travel to and autocrossing the car. I'm sure I will be able to gather a lot of useful information from the site for my project that hopefully will save me some time and help to avoid those common "first timer" mistakes. When the project gets underway I plan on posting updates on the project that hopefully will help someone else with their project & questions.

Looking forward to being an avid follower & hopefully be able to contribute some beneficial information.

Walt

Welcome Walt
Sweet another Nova and a 65 too. Cannot wait to see some progress pictures. Like Widemab said is is addicting but it is also fun and the people on this board will flood your brain with every thing imaginable.

Thanks for the warm welcome!! You are right on it being addicting. After a couple of days of riding with some excellent drivers in some great cars I was hooked. We've been doing this kind of work on customer's cars so I'm pretty familiar with the suspension components. The LS conversion will be a first for our shop. That will be good because we've had quite a few inquiries lately of people looking at going that way.

I will definitely be posting some pics along the way on the build.
