hey guys, i'm jake from phoenix, az. Been on camaros.net for about a year and was referred to this site due to the fact a lot more people here are going LS swaps. Not much of a mechanic but trying to pick things up here and there and hope to learn a lot. Car is just about finished and a little about it:

dad and i bought the car when i was 15 and i'm now 29 so i've owned her 14 years this september. Bought it from a guy in spring bay, il who didn't know much about building camaros but it was the first rust free car in our 5k dollar price range at the time. We slowly upgraded everything piece by piece and it was a nice solid car through high school. i moved to AZ about 7 years and the car stayed in il for 5 of those. Finally bought a house and was able to bring it out and came pretty close to selling it for a c6 zo6 but then was inspired by a guy i met with a 68 camaro ls7/t56 so i kept it.

Fast forward, i got married and had a brand new loaded/lifted f150 that my wife made me sell to do all the work i wanted to the camaro. As i work in public service i had to do a budget build so i opted for the lq9 instead of the ls1 and trying to save by buying nice used f-body parts and not upgrading everything i want. Upgraded the cam, had a built 4l60e put in with a 3800 stall, full magnaflow exhaust, and hotchkis drop springs/leafs. put in sub-frame connecters and upgraded to moser 31 spline axles on my 10 bolt w 3.73 gears. I went with kor3 z51 c6 corvette brakes in the front and ran out of money so i had to keep the drums in the rear for now. Bought 18 inch coddington wheels for it as well. Have a set of l92 heads i bought for it as well but have to ke-coop on funds so that will wait til next year.

here are some pics, hopefully they come through:

Sounds like you married an awesome lady, she made you sell your lifted truck to build your pro-touring Camaro! Nice car, good luck with the swap, I'm out in Surprise, would be up for a pavillions meet when it cools off.

Yeah sure, its springs and swaybars, I got the early kit before it included the control arms but love the springs and hollow front bar. Send me a pm or email me: [email protected] I'm should be home Tuesday/Wednesday for the next few weeks.

Should have been running this week but AR headers were made for a manual trans so had to ship back to new York so about 2 weeks out from firing her up. Let's hope this AZ weather starts cooling off in September
