So I've been lusting over some 390 FE engines I have seen on craigslist lately and I was just wondering if I should just get one and build it or just stick with the 351W I currently have in the car. The car is a 69 Torino. I'm looking for somewhere in the ~450hp range. Would it just be cheaper to refurbish and hot rod an old 390 than it would be to build a 450hp 393 stroker? What do you think?

I have a 390 service block (can be bored to 428 since the service block has thick walls) and I looked at the prices of doing a warmed fe and quickly decided to go back to my windsors. Now that said if you do move forward on the FE front I can make you a good deal

Windsor. Use a 4 inch stroke with a .030 bore for 408 inches. Building a Stroker is not much more than building a 351. Mo inches is mo betta.
