View Full Version : Moving pads causing a click?

I did a rear disc conversion a couple years ago on my GM 10 bolt rear. Used the right stuff detailing kit. I have always had a slight squeal and now I notice that I get a clicking sound when driving around. Usually while light braking or just after. I notice the pads have quite a bit of movement back and forth. I'm assuming that is what is causing the click.

Would greasing the contact points eliminate this or should there be some type of retainer clip/spring that is missing?

Pics! This would show us what rear disc set up you are running. Always grease contact points. No grease + movement = noise.

the right stuff kit uses the caddy rear calipers they do rattle there are no clips that i know of,
you can add a brake pad anti rattle adhesive from NAPA auto to the back of the pads and that will help
the Right stuff kit is great and the GM calipers are easy to fix and are reliable they do have this little problem and the more the pad wears the more rattle you get

Thanks for the info! I'm going to try some of that anti rattle stuff first.
