I would like to give these a try. Can you run in these events without a roll bar/cage in a convertible? What about seat belts. All I have now are the lap belts. Thanks, John

The answer to this is yes and sometimes. Any autocross event should allow you to run a convertible, even with the factory seat belts. The only PT event that I know of that allows convertibles on the track is the MotorState Challenge in Michigan. They do this to get people involved that may not be able to do this at other venues, but do it in a safe and controlled manner. Anyone with a convertible must run on the track at only 70% or so. Any sliding or off track excursions and you are done, no exceptions. Bottom line, autocrossing a convertible should be no issue. If you want track time you'll need a roll bar and harnesses at a minimum.
