About 3 weeks ago I was on my way back from a road trip 70 miles from my house and my truck (http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/#) started to pull off to the passenger side and could smell my brakes. I pulled off to the side of the road and in gear idling the truck wouldnt roll and when I would try to drive it, it would pull to the right. Had it towed home, pulled the caliper and inspected everything, bottomed out the caliper and put it back on and bled it.

No problems until today, Its been about 400-500 miles since that issue and while driving home from work it started to pull a little about 2-3 miles away from home. I took it easy heading home and when I got home I felt the driverside caliper and it was warm, but the passenger side was HOT.

So I immediatly pulled the wheel off and cracked the bleeder screw and a dribble of fluid came out but the brake was still holding so that takes the master cylinder out of the picture and a potenial brake line colapsed holding pressure in the caliper. So this is actually pointing me in the direction that internally the caliper is binding, sticking or some other cause of witch craft.'

Im more so looking to see if others agree as in 5 days I need to make a 800 mile trip to Florida and I DO NOT need these issues on the road. I was hoping the first time it was simply trash in the caliper and the problem was gone, but I wasnt that lucky.

Thanks in advance!

Oh yea and the brakes were changed 8 months ago and have about 10k on them...

If the calipers were swapped out 8 months ago, I would think that you could exchange the caliper for a new/remanufactured one from wherever you bought it under warranty since most remanufacturers have a 1-year or longer warranty. If the calipers are not new, then you should either rebuilt or replace that caliper with a new/reman unit as it sounds like you have a caliper piston/bore/seal issue assuming the caliper itself slides freely in the pad abutment bracket.

The pads were changed not the calipers 8 months ago, Sliders move freely and do not stick. I replaced the caliper today with a reman unit and will rebuild my stock PBR caliper when I get back from my trip and put it back on.

2000 trouble free miles... The caliper its self was sticking, I havent had time to rebuild my stock one to get rid of the Taiwan crap that is on there now. But all is well.

UHMMM how is a reman taiwan crap, it should be same part but cleaned up and remanufactured. Oh and bet ya didnt know but many of the PBR arent made in America. Now if it was a NEW-MAN ie sold as reman but new part its hard to say where it was made. But most parts store calipers are stock ones rebuilt. And besides who says your rebuilding is better than a reman company.
