Hello to all, first time doing a resto-mod. Got a 1978 T/A for cheap complete w/matching engine/trans and running. Interior is complete only bad thing is the shoddy body work, minimal body rust in the usual areas but floors are solid with no rust at all (car is not a T-top). Like the pro-touring look so I hope to reach that goal.
Here is the pics of car when I drove it home:

I currently have all the body from the front removed getting ready to take out sub frame to get some blast/powdercoating done.

I been watching this forum for a little while and like all the projects that are in progress/completed, hope to have the same results as most have gotten here. Like most it will be a slow project as the funds come in but will continue to post as time permits... This will be my take 2 since I got knees deep in on my old '77 Firebird Formula to the point I couldn't recover (I was much younger then and I was on my own). I hope to continue learning from this forum as much as possible, wish me luck!

Welcome to the site! Got to love those late 70's Disco-Birds! What do you have planned for the car and the subframe?

Looking at a tubular controls arms along with coilovers for the front... still have not decided on the rears yet, I like the torque arm but not sure how much modification (if any) will be needed if I did a mini tub in the rear. Since the tubing will be done by a shop, I would like to do the rest of the suspension on my own (bolt on) if possible...

We got the A-Arms and coilover kits for the car so let me know if you have any questions for the front.

As for the rear, our Torque Arm kits are bolt-in kits with virtually no mods needed (drill 4 holes in frame rails). You mentioned that you already mini-tubbed the car so you are looking for big tires. Do you plan on running the 10 bolt or possibly a Ford 9" out back?

I have the 10bolt rear end, I want to run some 18x10 rears possibly 315 tires and based on what I have seen around the forums all have to run at least a mini tub on anything bigger than 295's... I think one guy did some 305's but who knows if he has any rubbing issues at the track.

Oh and no, the mini tub has not been done yet, still trying to find a shop that can do it for a 2nd gen in or near DFW... If not I will have to reconsider the wheel depth
