We have had a blast so far! Everything has gone great!
We ran 136mph in the half mile yesterday & we think we were within 3 seconds of a perfect run on the Open Road Race today (we will find out in a few hours).
Here is a pic of us leaving our home town of DeSoto, KS.

Here is a pic of our camping spot in the middle of Arnold, NE at the Arnold motel & campground! lol

This one shows the start of the road where the SORC takes place. Lots of elevation changes & very curvy!

Here is one of Optima, NHRA, Top Fuel driver, David Grubnic riding in our Fairlane wagon! He is a very cool guy, LOTS of fun to be around!

Had a great time with you and Ridetech made an excellent choice to take their slot. Hope the trip home was safe and we meet up again.

We actually ended up 4.186 seconds too slow. We averaged 90.823mph (91 was the goal). We ended up fourth in the 91 class. I really wanted to beat David Grubnic but his co-driver was pretty sharp, they came in third. Not that im blaming anyone but.... my brother (my co-driver), I think was too scared to speak! He never said one word to me during the run! If my wife would have been co-driving for me, Grubby would have been screwed! lol

We had a great time with everyone! I really hope we all meet up again somewhere sometime.
Im pretty angry right now because I cant find a picture of the Monte Carlo!

Looks Like you folks had a blast. We got an invite this year but were not able to attend. So it's been said Arnold is so small it doesn't have a hotel, from the looks of this picture it doesn't have a gas station either?
Does it?

It does have a small service station with 2 gas pumps. I bet all they have is 89 octane though.
Our wagon runs on E85 so I like to bring plenty extra with us when we go on trips. Sometimes E85 can be tricky to find.

The gas station has 91 octane premium. Two years ago we stayed with the owner of the gas station and he said he made sure to have the premium on hand for the event. It was great meeting you at the event and seeing another wagon represent. I had to leave early on Saturday so I could not celebrate our third place finish with Dave, but I will be seeing him Sunday at the NHRA finals in Brainerd, MN since it is only a few hours away from my house.

MMMM, Looks like they reserved #113 for the wagons.

I think Scott said he got the number when he ran SORC in 2009.

Actually it was a total coincidence that we both ended up #113!
I wanted #13, so did Scott in 2009, the #13 was already taken by a lifetime SORC member so #113 was my second choice, same as Scott in 2009!
I used to have a dirt track car that was #13 and it treated us great! So I will always try to use that number anytime I can.
It was great meeting all you guys Scott! I really hope we meet up sometime again!
I told Grubby that since I was about one second slower than you guys I am going to have to bring a sedan next year so that wont happen again!

...and anyone with a wagon will now HAVE to run #113! LOL!!

Cool shots and it's clear you had a great time. Congrats! That event is super and the people of Arnold really go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. It reminded me a lot of Ely NV when the Silver State events are in town. I have to get back there again!

So I will have to run #113 When I take my wagon there in the future. Or is it any event? LOL Well at least now I know.

Tim- They give you the COOL numbers at Sand Hills, so you have to GET them on your wagon there. Then, you can 'use' them at other events, but only the 113s from Sand Hills will ever be considered 'cool' on your wagon.

It's an awesome deal- you'll be glad you went (and got your 113s) there....
