I have a 500 hp 383 with AFR 195 heads and an EPS 800 edelbrock carb in a 68 chevelle. When I hammer it, at about 5K it falls on its face as though it is starved for fuel. I am running a holley 110gph mechanical pump and also running a 110gph holley electric pump in line too. The problem there is that driving at low speed with the electric pump on causes the car to die when you turn corners or when you brake. I have put a regulator in line thinking that would help, but that didn't. I have also checked the float levels and everything is ok there. The only other thing I have not tired is sumping the tank and running 1/2" line. I am still running stock lines which I believe are 5/16". Anyone had similar issues? Is a sump the best way to go?

that 5/16" line is definitely a limiting factor in your fuel system, and 110gph may not be enough flow, even if you could get it through the small fuel line. Your engine may be simply requiring more fuel than can flow through that line.
I'm running a 1/2" line to the 357 in my '69, with a Carter 172gph pump. At best it's a 425hp engine, not nearly as much engine as you have. Perhaps it's overkill, but it'll never be starved for fuel.
